Around the year 1988, the Almazara started to sell its bottled oil, under different brands. In 2002, it launched its first trademark. The Regulating Council of Denomination of Origin “Montes de Granada” (created that same year) certified its quality and gave it the Gold Medal to the best Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the region for the year 2002/03. The same award was received for the year 2006/07.
Nowadays, the Almazara is under a control process of Integrated Production, where the olive crop and oil production are ruled under a strict control and follow-up by agriculture cooperative technicians consisting on phytosanitary treatments and fertilizing. These must be performed rationally and environmentally friendly and must follow a strict trazability during the whole oil elaboration process.
As regards the process controls, the General hygiene Plans have been written together with Faeca from Granada with the help of Coexphal.
In those plans, all the actions to carry out through the long oil elaboration process are stated, such as drinking water control, plants and equipments cleaning and maintenance, anti-rodent campaign, etc. This information is registered in the corresponding enclosed documents.
Our oil mill controls the trazability of its products thoroughly, from the crops to the final consumer. Through a computer program obtained in collaboration with the C.R.D.O.P, a strict process follow-up from the oil mill to the end is done.
The copy of the inscription certificate in the Food and Agriculture Industry Registry is enclosed here, as well as the quality certificates of the Integrated Production Group and the Regulating Council of Denomination in Origin Protection, Mounts of Granada.
