
Marialonso represents the origin of a whole family related to the land and olive trees who has devoted to produce extra virgin olive oil for more than a century and through 6 generations, with hope and hard work.
Around the year 1940, D. Antonio Martínez Hita (fourth generation), gave a great impulse to the extra virgin olive oil production.
Nowadays, the farm belongs to his son D. Manuel J. Martínez Vílchez (fifth generation), who manages it with love and the skills learnt through many generations.
Until now, the oil extracted from the Cortijo Marialonso olive trees, has been merchandized locally through the different region cooperatives. Finally, it is Exportaciones Martínez Aragón S.L., owned by Antonio Martínez Aragón (sixth generation), the company which merchandizes its own production of extra virgin olive oil under the trademark “Cortijo Marialonso”.
“Cortijo Marialonso” selects the extra virgin olive oil from the different areas of Andalucía according to quality. The olive oil’s properties from one region may be affected according to year, rainfall, frost, harvest time, etc. “Cortijo Marialonso” is in charge of keeping constant the characteristics of its oils and requires high quality standards.
All our production is manufactured in a local oil mill of recognized prestige. This was founded in 1955 to take advantage of the good oils obtained from the olive trees of the Western Mounts area, region situated to the North of the province of Granada.
